@Rzaj gotta remember they are practically immortal, so 50 years to them is probably like a couple weeks to us...of course, I'd still be pretty pissed off if someone went and broke something I spent several weeks of careful labor and god knows how many rare materials to make AND tried to kill me in the process

Hopefully there's an explanation next chapter over the research and experiments.

@InsaneInsomniac Assuming he's lived for 5,000 years (idk I'm too lazy to reread and check exactly how old he is), 50 years would be about 9-10 months (assuming an average 80-year lifespan) - I'd be pretty pissed too

Welp, that's just how it goes sometimes. Sometimes we get it and sometimes we get got.

well 50 years is not long for him....
the reason why he's so pissed probably because the materials to make the body and he's dying, so he can't afford to spend another 50 years to make the body again.

better replace old body with inferior body (non devil) now . if he dont want to die

@TehSDragon even if he's ~5000 years old right now, that doesn't necessarily mean his actual lifespan is 5000 years...plus I was under the impression that even if the physical body wears out, the soul itself can be transplanted into another suitable host body, allowing for essentially eternal life...although if I understand it correctly, then there's still several limits on that overall process, most importantly being: there are ways to "kill" the soul itself directly, the difficulty of repeatedly securing suitable bodies, difficulties in the transplant process, and the potential for souls to wear out over time and/or through repeated transfers (this being more likely the lower a soul's "tier" is)
