I figure I should say this, in case you ever revisit these chapters. "Mine Mother" doesn't work. English has had the rules around articles and possessives changing form around words starting with a consonant or verb for a very long time. A hand, an angel, thy hand, thine own hand, etc.. If you want to use some pretend Olde English for this guy, use "Mother Mine" instead, and "My Mother" or "Dear(est) Mother (Mine)."
