@AssassinLJ could you link the interview where the author stated that this story was going to be made with less volumes? or what parts were dragged????? because of alllllllllllllllllllllll the story so far, the only thing that felt like a filler to me, was Zenitsu's fight with his former senpai, he came out of nowhere and shortly after he was dead, it's also the only fight that could've been perfectly removed.... That demon was weak as fuck.

But there were several tropes. Some powerups that came from nothing, the demon cure we just happened to have one more of it, this chapter in particular where he overcame it with the power of friendship, building a damsel in distress that came to nothing, etc.
It is a good a series but it's not free of tropes.
