@Lazyraisin Romance usually develop relatively quickly. The problem is the comedies in which the author insinuates the romance and after 285 chapters has almost no progress. Cof cof komi cof cof san cof cof.

@Kaduufrrj Komi has short chapters and a bunch of characters it can focus on, though. You have not truly suffered through a romance series until you read Nisekoi (during publication).

@Kaduufrrj To say that romance manga and anime tends to progress at the pace of a dead snail is an understatement.

I kinda get why they do it but holy balls many take what feels like 50 years to get over basic stuff like: Handholding, Hugging, Kissing. Which is like... first week of a high school romance, maybe 2nd if the pair is really shy but damn.

Might just be a Japanese thing.

Might explain their abysmal birth rate and selling more adult diapers than baby ones.
