I think it's too soon to decide she made the wrong choice. For me, shes playing it safe. And her life was so hard and too cutthroat that she cut her own throat. Living a lonely life surrounded with bad rumour which I believe being spread by this own family.

Imo this girl already know who to trust and not, and know the extent of her own opponent power. The author just doesnt show it yet and made her seems indifferent, but imo she just easy going because she has hidden card on her sleeve.
