Add chapter count to titles view / page count to manga page :rejected:

When finding new manga to read I am always in the search / titles view. Right now the only way to know how many chapters have been translated is to click on the title and open the manga page.
It would be nice to see the chapter count on the titles page instead.

There's a risk of table clutter and if this is an issue perhaps it can be shown as a tooltip when hovering over the title.

A similar suggestion is to add page count to the chapter listings on the manga page. Again it could be tooltip if needed.

Ahh OK I only checked the sticky for the word "count".

I thought of the language issue for the chapter count but didn't want to clutter up the suggestion.

The page count feature though would not have that problem.

We currently don't have any plans to add search by chapter count due to a mixture of several issues. In the past, the "respect filtered languages latest update time" crashed the servers. We don't actually track chapter numbers per language right now, so it would be dozens of times more strenuous of a query if we wanted to let people sort by chapter count. It would have to go through every single manga, count every chapter, and then sort all of the titles on our site. If we did track the chapter count, there's still the case of people wanting to know if the series is actually ended or not. This again isn't easy considering we have multiple languages that people scanlate in, the presence of an 'END' tag doesn't necessarily mean we actually have all the chapters, and just displaying all that info would be a nightmare.

As for page count, among the same issues that comes with having multiple scanlation languages, it's an inaccurate stat because of many unfortunate reasons. Some groups that do longstrip series split their chapters into 900 pages while others just have a single mile-long page, other groups decide to add on dozens of non-related images or credit pages to their chapters, etc etc...
