Yep, I'm absolutely convinced the asshole uses cockatrice poison. He even mentions turning into a stone which is one of the variations n the whole cockatrice/basilisk mixup.

@tokuzawa_keisuke You've probably had already googled the creature, but cockatrice, otherwise known as skoffin, is a type of poisonous wyvern. It is often confused with the basilisk, a species of a poisonous drake, because both have paralyzing poison that's sometimes attributed petrification instead of paralysis. The latter effect is also often attributed to basilisk's gaze, while cockatrice is also known with paralyse with their sight.
