@givemersspls From what I gather it was the usual cliché banter of taking an opponent's attention, kinda like a taunt of some sort.

Let's assume that while in their dragon form they have better Attack and Defense compared to their Human forms. She wasn't expecting somebody to have that much Dark Power that it could breach her defense. Even in Isekai World logic why would someone approach a fucking dragon in a forest regardless whether it's sleeping or not? compare that to random sleeping human in the forest? No reason? Arrest her and question why she was there or worse fall prey to slave traders. Remember she wouldn't wake up.

Turning into a dragon costs a lot of energy so much so that she needed to sleep in the first place, turning back into a human to sleep then and back to Dragon wouldn't be economical and would waste more time and energy I bet. Remember her defense was so fucking high Hajime and co.'s OP attacks couldn't even dent her from the front and the mind control was only broken because of the sudden and highly violent anal penetration.

@givemersspls I've read up some source material and have come to a conclusion that it was a Stats thing. While it does cost mana to maintain Dragonification it seems that she can somehow recover even while in dragon form on the basis that she's inactive/asleep, compared to Dragon form while in combat.

Her superior stats alone should justify why staying and sleeping in Dragon form would be optimal or safer even, It's also noted that normal Dragonmen have immense will and the fact that a Dragonman of her caliber was overpowered so easily was even surprising by Isekai World Logic. The Caster was described as very proficient or even some sort of Genius with Dark Magic also it did not help that the caster had nearly a whole day to do it because she was sleeping. (It's a apparently a racial trait that Dragonmen are heavy sleepers.)

It's also mentioned that due to her mission needing to be swift and because traveling long distances/flying over oceans was an exhausting ordeal, she made the blunder of placing herself in a deeper sleep compared to normal while stopping for a rest.
