@tachiyumyum Looking back, it could be that he was just feeling bad for this little girl, who was probably a noble, forced into the life of a slave.
My best guess is that he just took pity on her... It'll be interesting to see how he views her going forward.

It'll still be a while before homeboy looks good in my book. All the crap the author tried to use to "redeem" him has still felt too shallow for now.
Hopefully, they can do something more substantial going forward.

I don't have any bad opinions about the ML (I'm tempted to read past comments on why people dislike him tbh?) but if he ever starts getting aggressive or suddenly become an abusive ML after this, I'm bringing knives. (though it's unlikely since he calmly solve that it was a coincidence that he had chosen the princess)
Now that he knows Chloe is actually a full grown adult, this is mostly so that the ML will stop viewing her as a child
