To be honestly this was plan out when Yuri and His Mom knew that Haru and MC were together on a date plus the despair keeps rolling in this chapter for MC

I like this; this is a far more interesting and probably realistic take on controlling bad parenting than how it's usually portrayed with the parent being violent and ugly.

Poor kid really has the worst parents. Mom is a victim too but she's just taking it out on him now. And coupled with the household circumstances and school bullying I'm surprised he hasn't snapped by now.
He probably would've already if not for Haru being like the only bright spot in his life.
Yuri's dumbass with the bullying the mom the perfect excuse to pull him out of school and futher isolwte him as well. The school was a toxic environment yes but it was still better than him being left all alone with his mom especially now that she's gone off the deep end

You'd be surprised how many stories of beaten children reflect that teachers and government officials are indeed like this. “Oh, he looks like a nice, friendly guy, that means he can't be beating his child in private.” vs “Oh, he looks ugly and scary — then we need to be careful.”
I read a story once from two children who were essentially held for 7 years by a step-parent with their biological parent powerless to stop it; they were beaten at times to the point of the neighbours calling the police, who would come over, and he would be friendly and kind with them and just calmly explain that something simply fell over and that he understands their concern but that it's all fine and then the police would go away without further checking and he would resume his beating.
Conmen work like this every day; they appear as actual friendly people whom one thinks one can trust, not like Harvey Mudd in fiction.

Haru knows where he lives, i hope she gonna try to visit him at some point to give some light to his sad life.
