@Kaarme She acts and looks like a child though, so it's kinda expected. Add onto that the fact that she is already demonstrating magic that likely rivals or is greater that the countries most powerful magicians, as military people she's also a golden goose of epic proportions (Or worst nightmare) for them, no way they're going to let anything happen to her.

Wow this was like a speedrun of 2-3 chapters if I recall. I think in the original it wasn't even her lightning that killed it, the 'idea' was that the innkeeper was supposed to finish it with armor cutter(a technique he learned from the guy who gave him that key) but he failed the first time he used it and the priest obliterated its internal organs with some kind of ki pulse attack he used originally. The lightning hit and they thought it killed it.....when it actually died of internal bleeding right after being struck. And there was also a whole huge argument around the ring and if he had been cheating on her with a adventurer girl from another town who visited around they time they lost the ring.

@karolyn Yeah, we all know what happens when they do "Man I really should do the Main QuesOH WHAT'S OVER THERE?". Thrice damned Open world games and their endless supply of quests and hidden stuff.

@TetraSky I guess we would then she her adventuring on her own. She can't afford to fail quests as a gamer! You only fail quests if they are bugged or if it's one of those rare cases where you basically are solidly forced to choose between two missions (outcomes), resulting in one success and one failure.

Sounds awfully strange since it was just a consequence of a random quest she picked up, and doesn't seem like it should be related to her main objective. It'd be kind of a surprise if it was, which I feel like it'd be kind of funny if a random chapter-ending comment spoiled that.
