Chiyo Kuno the Psychic - Vol. 2 Ch. 37

Every group of friends has that one bitter person who can't just be happy for their friends whenever they get a significant other and so either complains to everyone and/or impose themselves onto any and all possible romantic outings without getting into an actual relationship of their own.

Seriously, Kisaki is giving off some incel vibes here (or femcel if you want to be pedantic). It would be one thing if she was just sad over being single, then I would sympathize with her somewhat, but it's an entirely different thing to act petty towards her friends and their respective boyfriends. How is this kind of character supposed to be charming or likeable?

incel means involuntary celibate, so there's no reason a women can't be. Though they have a different name in manga: christmas cake.

@encrypted12345
What do you mean women can't be incels? Look up articles titled "Where have all the good men gone?" or reddit posts of women talking about how all guys are shallow for not giving them a chance. Ever heard of the term "I'm not like other girls."? Entitlement and bitterness are not traits exclusive to men. There are plenty of women who are single and feel like they "deserve to be in a relationship". You even pointed out a subset of those kind women with the "Christmas cake" types which is a thing in Japan outside of manga. (Although some of them aren't necessarily bitter so not all "Christmas cakes" are incels/femcels)

I can't believe this comment section immediately turned into a talk about incels. Not even mad just impressed.

@encrypted12345 "Christmas cake" refers specifically to an unmarried woman over 25. Nobody wants a Christmas cake after the 25th, that's the (rather mean spirited) joke...

We're talking about high schoolers here so that term really doesn't apply though.

Some people really get way too serious over a light hearted 4 pages chapter...

@Rol @Equal That Kazuma dude does that with every lighthearted series I see them comment under. I don’t know how someone can take such lighthearted manga so seriously.

For those that read the comments, don't head any further down.

Incel internet cancer lies beneath the waves...

@starburst98 I wouldn't be surprised if she can only predict events involving herself so if she isn't involved in hooking up her friend then she's gotta keep putting up with the normie envy.
