Tho Yuzu could had made things more easy just by saying what they cherished wasnt the ring but its meaning.
Most of this emotions are all still pretty new to Mei even now, so i dont blame her at all for being that scared. Also Yuzu reaction at the festival made clear shes still traumatized by Mei leaving her.
Tbh im glad it didnt became something bigger.
