hmm.. you see, I'm interested making my own comic, but been wondering a lot of this. can you really put intellectual property like Nintendo stuff on your stuff like that mario-kun gum? there is also a lot others thing like in some manga I read, McDonalds will spelled AcWonalds, KFC will be AFC, obviously to avoid legal rights issues.

You need to get the rights to depict the relevant product. That may or may not involve money.
Simply mentioning a trademark is a more gray area I don't know much about, but usually people just avoid the risk and change the name to something that doesn't infringe on the trademark.
