What you don't understand, especially when you feel that you know more than the others, would seem ridiculous. And it's easier to say others are wrong than you need more information.

It doesn't necessary limits to trans, but in this story, trans really get the blunt from part of the society. I mean, FMC here shows precisely what's happening - trans often rather hide in the closet to "maintain" the relationship rather than living the true self.
