Truth was, Vietcong ceased to be an operational entity after the Tet Offensive and had to be absorbed into the NVA. The NVA itself was on the verge of collapsing. Another few more months, and the war would've been won for South Vietnam.

However, public perception drives everything, and the war was deeply unpopular at the homefront cause of the images and recordings making it back.

Though if you really wanna trace it all the way back, the mistake was in thinking there was a need to fight communism. How many communist countries collapsed on their own, or adopted capitalist reforms and policies?

Lots of Communist nation didn't collapsed or become capitalist until 1990s, and few like Cuba still holding up as mostly socialist country until now.
And don't forget, 1960s era Communism arguably is in their peak of power and pretty much (looked) invulnerable. Couple that to 'Domino Theory', it make sense for Western Power to commit in Vietnam War. It will be pretty unrealistic for US to not doing -something- about Communist Vietnam.

Maybe, just maybe, Vietnam War can be avoided if Woodrow Wilson accepted Uncle Ho back during Versailles and make him more pro US... but I read Ho is already leaning to socialism back then so who know. Even if Ho Chi Minh become more pro-US, some other Communist hardliner might make short work of him.

@Ovnidemon I do think Zorxal would have made war independently of Tyuule, but you know what this discussing is too complicated to come to a unifying opinion I, for example, think she needs help not saving just help, this does come from me being weak to bunny girls ( XD ) but i do think her madness is a result of many things and i would only give 50% of blame on things.

Well, this is just my opinion I accept any other opinion on the matter as independently of what is the outcome i will accept it.
