Hazure Skill [Mapping] wo Te ni Shita Shonen ha Saikyou Party to Dungeon ni Idomu - Vol. 1 Ch. 4.2

@feha I guess because no matter how much effort you put into a sword, if someone with a skill in swords puts in a 10th the effort they'll still wipe the floor with you.
Just an assumption as time is finite.

@Ribath I doubt anyone can teach such an unique skill no, but if you can learn skills he doesn't have to be a useless guy with literally only one skill despite training his entire life with his blessed childhoodfriend, for adventuring.

tbf it's a pretty understandable misunderstanding. Dude is literally carrying someone that looks like a child while running and that child happens to be screaming to put her down. No one would blame the police or whoever else if they made a mistake in stopping people like that lmao.

So if you can just LEARN skills then who cares what you get at birth? Kind of undercuts the premise?

@maffo666
True but that doesn't not mean its not worth doing.
Just because there always someone vastly better and always will be better than you in every sports or education subjects does not mean you can never touch or practice in any sport nor try to study anything.
Fuck them, you do you.

@Hamin Still kind of a bitch move from the dwarf, that she didn't even speak up to defend Mapperman.

@vannn Probably only works with 'general' skills, doubt you can train up to get UR body passives.

@mangareader

I guess it's just how permanent they portrayed a person's in born status was. That he all of a sudden trains one chapter and now knows two completely new skills makes me feel like it's a bit of a plot hole, like he's NEVER tried to learn anything his whole time adventuring.

Which I know is sort of the point of his character arc, realizing he was in his own way the entire time, but it still feels unlikely.

This was such crap. EVEN IF they mean something like "general skills" or whatever, that just means that this manga did a piss poor job of explaining any of that. It specifically said that once you get your skill(s) at the age of fifteen (not birth, like some people were saying earlier), then you're stuck with them for life. Then here comes herp derp, either bad writing or bad explaining, learn some skills, MC, herp derp.

Dude you mean you can just LEARN skills? Not only does he have the OP mapping skill everyone is bad at pretending is bad, but he can just learn other skills that could augment it like showing traps and enemies and shit?

God, he's going to be like the best dungeon cartographer in the world. People would pay him gobs of gold or whatever the currency is for the privilege of utilizing his skills for 10 minutes. "But you can't use a sword to murder goblins!!! so bad!!!" Uggggghhhh

What homie you can just learn fucking skills.

You'd have thought if MC had such an inferiority complex about being useful in a party he'd go out of his way to be useful other ways like learning skills or training his body.
