Is this a plot where the mangaka suddenly reveal that the stuck-up supermage was just a common-tier caster in the beginning too, leaving us to feel guilty for agreeing with the MC's assessment?
... Truth be told, when I saw the frogs... I expected the Konosuba eaten-by-a-frog type of deal, did not expect a giant naginata-wielding samurai thing
He is right. She is blessed with those skills like everyone at the party. He is not. So he has to work twice as hard to keep up with them because he wants too.
It feels like it could possibly go down that route, but there's no reason to feel guilty. Neither we as readers nor the MC could possibly know that, since she herself isn't sharing that info yet. Even if you say something that's wrong or hurtful, you can't be expected to know something you simply don't know. If they don't tell you beforehand, the fault lies with them if they get offended or upset.
@Guytsu Hell, even if it does go down that route, did he say anything wrong? Being blessed with "Mapping" (and nothing else as of yet) means he's literally useless in combat scenarios, esp. without Stealth.
At least a mage is blessed with their magic, right? Regardless of how much effort she put into training to reach where she is now, she still started with something a lot better than what is essentially a scouting skill. An excellent one, to be sure, but yeah.
