@Nari well, large parts of the west still need to catch up with the west about gay marriage (not to mention blood-related marriage)... it's part legal system (many things, like euthanasia, would be legalized in lots of countries if there was a referendum) and part interference from churches and the like

@alexiooo marriage and child-making are completely unrelated things in the modern world (widespread contraception). There's adoption, there are semen banks. Also, note that according to science there are more chances of genetic diseases with childmaking after 40 yo than with blood-related relatives. So according to your comment we should also forbid marriage to all people after 40, and to people with genetic diseases in general.

If the health of the children were the real concern, it would be fine to mandate contraception, or vasectomy. It's just because the $insert-local-holy-book-title says that gay marriage or blood-related marriage are dirty. But in a modern liberal state the community can't be allowed to have any right to say who I can and I cannot love.

@mochi I don't think it's the debate here but i can't put seriously same sex marriage with blood related marriage, there a whole difference between loving someone for the same gender and loving someone of your blood related family. Genetics problems are facts you can't just push under the carpet, they exists. Also remember tha most marriage end with a break up, it's easy to cut relation with friends or spouse/husband but cut with your family is a whole other matter.

Jokes on you, apparently in the Bible, God command marriages between first-cousin so you can't really blame on the religion on this one. More likely it's the society you can blame. Personnaly and even if i enjoy some incest mangas sometimes, i don't really think getting married with someone of my family is a good thing.
