"and you'll be put to death the moment you use that strange magic on me"
Did I miss something ? Does this idiot have a special ability that lets him deal death to all who "attacks" him ? Because from where we're standing, I see no way for him to even do what he claim will happen.
@icekatze@Add1152000 Go back and read the first page of chapter one, my prediction (not spoiler) from reading this is that he plans to expose the fake Saintess by intentionally taking a hit and let Anise heal him up in front of the royal family before escaping.
That’s a good thought and sounds likely. Arguably it’s still reckless to go to the capital and they could have just retained the saintess without showing off. But perhaps there’s a political reason to doing so, like you chose to relinquish her so we’ll take her thanks.
That said information doesn’t flow well in medieval societies so they could still say she was stolen regardless.
Ultimately I believe going to the capital was pointless.
How does the kingdom survive with such a stupid king/prince/whatever?
He is more suited to be an adventurer who is too full of himself and believes in: friendship is power.
Well he's definitely not stable.
I'm assuming she told the prince that the general attempted to do something to her, and this is his shortsighted reaction?
