Ichioku-nen Button o Renda Shita Ore wa, Kizuitara Saikyou ni Natteita - Vol. 1 Ch. 2.1

The premise for this story is completely ruined by the author's inability to conceive of the mentality of someone who trained for as long as the MC. If anything the MC would have gone insane from loneliness over the years, but I don't blame the author for ignoring that. The lack of confidence that everyone points out is the real killer, IMO.

Wow, just wow... The guy easily beats the "sword master" of his school, and the only thing he is good at (except sword fighting), is doubting himself/having very low self-esteem regarding his skills...

@ people being dumb about Bank vouchers - because carrying 1k gold coins should be pretty heavy and take up too much room. You might even get robbed soo to prevent that you use that paper voucher to turn in a back for the 1k gold coins.

He had 3 coins of unknown value in his coin pouch. Guessing it was either copper or silver.

So 1000 gold seems absolutely ridiculous for an entry fee. Even if the coins he had were 3 gold coins. Seeing as that's ALL the money he had.

If 3 gold coins is all he had, that would have to be enough at least for a couple meals. 1000 gold coins would be equal to like $1-10k USD.
