The thing about psychology, mental health, and abuse is that if you grew up in a pretty well adjusted environment, these kinds of developments aren't relatable, and that's good! It's really good if you can't relate to this stuff! But understand that these things do happen, and are actually quite common, especially around major holidays like Christmas. A lot of people are calling this unrealistic, but this is the most real this manga has ever been in my view.
