Yes, and it just so happens to be that Jin invented, started, and popularized the subversion of the trope, which was originally elves getting eaten by orcs, unless you want to say Shrek did it first. There is always someone that did something first, someone that did something new, unusual, and never before seen, and Jin happens to be the one that spread that ripple across the world, much to his shock.
