Itai Onee-san wa Suki Desu ka?

you know that video where they narrating the child going for grocery for their first time? yeah this is the same thing but in a good cringey way

Its almost hyper cynical in its presentation. A girl with serious issues being treated like a joke, female relationships being petty competitions and her work life is hostile.

It got some laughs from me but I felt worse coming out of it.

no way in hell is a 26 year old woman an "older lady" lmao
is this a mistranslation of onee-san or is she actually considered old in the plot?

@taako-yaki it's a Japanese thing.

Japanese society views women who are unmarried once they reach 25 as a "Christmas Cake", referencing the cakes sold before Christmas Eve that are not desirable and generally thrown away on the 25th. So 25 is when "things go bad from being too old".

It's pretty fucked up.

@0dvgate ikr?

It's unfortunate that so many of them are horrendously depressed from Japanese society as a whole implying that there is something wrong with them.

@AnonMan88 It would be fine if Japanese society heavily propagandized marriage. Their current efforts are anemic: Going the Russian and Hungarian paths of extreme economic incentives per Child born via marriage is a proven solution to population decay. They should also upgrade their social propaganda.
