A bit confused at the line when the sword says "He reached the seat of God through his own efforts, but to obtain me, he threw it all away", is that maybe a mistranslation? Since a few pages later we see him getting rid of the sword in order to focus on his efforts, it seems more like this line should be "He reached the seat of God through his own efforts, but to obtain it, he threw me away", which would also explain why the sword was crying.

I think there are three phases involved. Pre-sword (reaching the seat of God), with sword (threw that away), post-sword (see how strong he can get on his own).

That whole "seat of God" section is kind of unclear in Japanese, so we'll need to see if it's clarified in future chapters.
