Kurisu the translator of this series hates me so much they blocked me here, banned me from their discord (where I get notified of new series or updates of manga) and they seemed to of insulted us by calling us "smol brains" in a different version of the chapter.

All because me and some others thought "trans" shouldn't be the translation of "former male"

Should be 8.5 or higher. I'd rate 10/10 for my personal preferences... Why is every series with crossdressing underrated by a full point or two? I feel like people just have something against crossdressing or something... ;-;

@smolbaka judging from their reply, you didn't lie about what they did. I'm curious what kind of criticism/insult you had towards kurisu's translation, but if it's anything short of outright cussing I highly doubt you deserved what happened.
@kurisu That aside, I'd support the translator simply because they're doing what is essentially charity work of their own accord. Thank you for doing that, and I'm sure all readers appreciate it, but most criticism is constructive and well-meant, so keep an open mind because you can always just ignore something you don't like, and criticism (both positive and negative) is just like all other information - it can only help when you make use of it. Geeze, that run-on sentence had poor grammar...

@Firemorfox Yeah, but a lot of people including me explained why Trans was a natural and appropiate translation for 元男, but smolbaka and other 2 or 3 people kept complaining I was just pushing an agenda. I got ticked off and blocked them all.

I did talk to someone about this who knows japanese and grammar. She noted that trans girl probably shouldn't be the literal translation for "元男" but it's acceptable.

Ah, in that case I guess everybody involved overreacted (but mostly the complainers). If they kept mentioning repeatedly the topic after you already talked about it, then you already did what you should have done. They overstepped boundaries regardless of whether they had good intentions or not. It's clear they did it often enough to the point to annoy you, probably even after you told them to stop repeatedly.

The fact that you make sexual remarks in almost every crossdressing manga's comments on this site is good enough reasoning for a ban on a scanlators discord.
A translator shouldn't have to cater to you or your opinions on the text they are working on. The fact that people even cared about choosing 'trans woman' over 'ex-guy' and then tried to justify it with bullshit arguments is proof enough of toxicity. Like there are legitimate mistranslations that happen all the time in manga, but ppl rarely care.

What I love about this manga is that it addresses gender issues with deep respect to self-identity and without romanticizing victimization. It's just a slow and awkward process of learning to live with each other, just as it should be.
