Kinda get tired with Nishikata's shtick. He's just the same as Kazuya from Kanokari but forgiven due to the difference in genre.

That's because after a reorganization of chapter number for Volume 12 to 14, it allow them to actually count the proper number of chapter. In other words, they now count the 3 extra .5 chapters as proper chapter now (which should've been). If you don't know, the 3 chapters they think is .5 chapter before is as follows:
1) Chapter 29 from Volume 4 - 21 Game
2) Chapter 33 from Volume 5 - Cat
3) Chapter 62 from Volume 7 - Promise (The summer festival invitation chapter)

@Duckiedoggo To be fair, Nishikata's entire purpose is for Takagi to tease him. In a sense, Takagi is the "main dish" and Nishikata is the "dressing/seasoning".

Which is absolutely sad for Nishikata but eh....

Uhmmm I really can't agree with that statement.

First of all Nishikata is 12 and Kazuya is 20 so there's already a difference in the expected maturity.
Secondly Nishikata is only that way with Takagi who teases while Kazuya acts stupid around every female character from merely existing.
Last but not least Nishikata's goal is to tease Takagi while Kazuya is trying to get a girlfriend.

Both series might have similar jokes with the protagonist being embarassed and making dumb decisions but the circumstances are completely different.
