@Yamikzune They do use "sankyuu", i.e. "thank you" and that might be why he "corrrected" her. I personally think he panicked.

Agreed, some of these mangas made sense before the dawn of networked mobile communication devices but how not even one person in that entire class didn't pull out a phone to try to communicate with her imho not even a remote reality in this day and age. I also can't see a school throwing a student into a class body without some form of prior testing for language competency, I also would expect a teacher to also ask a few of the better English tested students to offer a helping hand as well, literally otherwise in every culture this will setup a very bad hazing event.

@GroundDead but she (in eng translation) say "Like you" so why MC corrected her word to "Thank you"?
