Kingdom - Vol. 59 Ch. 638 - Waterway

well, qi and qin already had an agreement of their alliances back when riboku and king of qi visited

so all of riboku trash talking back in kanyou is just him being cocky, now he lost big time(big part of it is also cuz of the king of zhao being a dick and not lending kantan's soldier)

so much for the greatest strategist

King of Qi still being the greedy troll we always knew he was is refreshing to say the least.

It's a tad silly riboku didn't consider Qi but I guess because Qin intend on conquering ALL of china, Qin getting outside aide is not as viable. However, it happened before which is why Riboku finally realized his mistake. What I like about that realization is that he as a great tactician thought long and hard about why another tactician like Ousen would make this gamble if he didn't have a sure fire way of securing food. And then when it dawned upon him Riboku was like "FUUUUUUUUCK"

I love how this was the simplest solution all along, yet somehow we all overlooked it until now.

@4V29LN0n Let's ramrod you through 500 years of war and a lifetime of grinding, starving poverty and still see if you think that way.

So long as the entirety of Qi from king to peasant is treated as equals to Qin (which is what the king and prime ministers of Qin swore to do), there is no logical and no stable moral grounds not to take this deal. The only reason to hesitate, as ever, is war: can Qi hold its borders long enough for Qin to finish the conquest of Zhao?

And if that statement makes no sense to you, I have to ask: Did you even read any of the prior chapters? Did you just skip all the extremely relevant worldbuilding as TL:DR? Or are you treating this story like a Total War computer game, where you don't see and thus entirely ignore all the human damages and lost opportunity costs?

Riboku only wishes he could be more than a character that monologues about houken's bullshit existence

The Double Bait was pretty galaxy brain ngl.
The Land Transports were a distraction for the Water Transports who where a distraction for the Qi Transports. Clap

Well played, they never said that Quin was going to invade without any help from other countries do it alone

@4V29LN0n

Dude, it feels like you missed lot of reading. Their state is closest thing to ally that they got with the way they made their king believe in conviction that reunification of China can be done.

Obvious in hindsight, thanks to this arc taking almost two years we entirely forgotten about Qi
