Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon - Vol. 9 Ch. 87 - Shouta and Lucoa the spectator

@Doomroar

Cool is a major /ss/ supporter and it shows up in a lot of his works, it's fine if you're not exactly okay with it, but pointing it out is like pointing out the sky is blue.

Its okay Shouta I’ll protect you from Lucoa

url

I greatly enjoyed seeing so much of Lucoa’s cool eyes this chapter

Lucoa-san just has to wait for 3-4 years, Shouta is 10-12 yet after all.

@Xystus
So she is a Godess, the Gods are enemies to all dragons, thus Lucoa is an enemy to all dragons. But she is not one of the Gods and is part of a Dragonic faction and is reconized in the story as being a dragon so...

@tshh

Thanks for the chapter

Some suggestions

pg 5
"How comes.. " -> "How come.."
Strenght -> strength
"Gives them such a freedom of agency" -> "Gives them such freedom of agency" and really you could drop the "of agency" part and it would be fine.

pg 7
"That I challenged her for fight once"-> "that I challenged her to a fight once"

@mahtan by your logic Kobayashi is a dragon too. See how stupid you sound like now. Just because they are part of a faction doesn't make them a dragon. Lucoa may look like a dragon to you, but she's a serpent goddess (but demoted from her godhood). Go read more on Quetzalcoatl on wiki and you'll realize she's literally not a dragon at all.

@Red225

Lucoa: *is a super OP goddess*
Still Lucoa: *is in the faction that does absolutely nothing* *and goes "Ara ara" to a little wizard boy*

@Kzitold Yep. If she takes action, other than to defend herself, she makes an enemy of the entire other group. And that means if you take them down, it weakens that side so the OTHER faction wipes them out, and there's horrific casualties. When two sides are locked in mortal conflict and are on the brink, a super OP goddess getting involved just means the body count gets higher, and possibly pulls in folks who aren't quite as super strong as her in the spectator faction.

She's a goddess, yes, but not necessarily one that the dragons have issue with. Being a goddess also doesn't necessarily rule out being a dragon too. Mononoke Sharing, and general Cool universe setting, spoilers ahead.
Lucoa is one of at least seven responsible for the creation of Earth, Momi being another and the one that provides the explanation.
The intent was for the world to just have humans but in her boredom created creatures like herself, the mononoke, though eventually set things so they'd gradually become human over time to undo that "mistake" that irritated some of the others. Whatever god or gods have an issue with nonhumans are likely the ones the dragons in turn have a problem with. Honestly it's entirely possible Lucoa's in the same boat with the creation of dragons, essentially she'd be the dragon before dragons were even really a thing, though nothing outright says as much at this point besides the precedent for possibility.
That she's one of this group of gods adds to her standing by honestly, because she risks not only screwing with the balance between dragons but potentially dragging other gods in if she messes with their creations in the process.

You guys can fight over this Lucoa, and I'll be perfectly happy with my Lucha Onee-san.

I didn't think that she was that much stronger than the rest. So that means Kanna's dad and Tooru's dad can't do shit to Lucoa either

I have a feeling that by the time this series is over, we'll see Lucoa reach a breaking point despite being in the spectator faction.
Let's say Shouta gets heavily injured in a new dragon attack and Lucoa starts wrecking everyone's shit.

@Doomslayer97
i'm pretty sure that would result in pretty much everyone dead. the ones who hurt him, the ones who didn't protect him, the ones who failed to protect him because they weren't strong enough.

everyone

Here's hoping for more lucoa x shouta chapters, hopefully with lucoa confessing her honest feelings to him.
