Kou 1 Desu ga Isekai de Joushu Hajimemashita - Ch. 38 - The Two Merchants 2

Oh please mummy girl, you are best waifu, don't do anything stupid and nice job mc to not kick your good waifu out and thanks for the chapter!!

Welp, for people who's sighing at that red flag with Mimia
She almost go,
TWICE
(this covers ch 39 and 40)

First time Hiroto give her a don't go hug.

She still try to sneak out.

Sorcerie stop her this time, convincing her by saying that maaaaybe the opposition's goal IS to take her away from Hiroto to make him suffer, in which case her going would just be playing into their hand.

Hiroto and Valkyria was waiting for the two when they got back to the hall.
Hiroto give her another don't go hug, this time she swear to stay by his side.

Oh and after talking to this 2nd merchant Hiroto seem to have finally realized what the asshole's goal really is but didn't elaborate :v

As someone who "read" the raws,
what I could understand is: Mimia will try to go away at night (probably to that merchant) to help Hiroto, but Sorciere (who was awake at night at the time) saw her and didn't let her do that, then Hiroto conforts her with a hug and words I coudn't understand very well because my japanese isn't so good.

oh please, can't he as a lord capture that merchant for his insolence?

Imagine being a mummy and not being undead. This post was sponsored by the Real Mummy Gang

MC, can you stop being such a massive pushover and grow a pair already? Just assassinate them and be done with it.

@Siikalahna

Those two merchants are just representatives for their respective merchant guilds. You'll have to exterminate two whole merchant guilds if assassination is your solution.

@Sharkexpert12 see you, dont lost in the fabric of space & time.

@Siikalahna If you ever read Spice & Wolf, you will know that merchant assasination is the most stupid thing that a lord can do (well.. not even a stupid lord will do this), because most of your country/fief money is in the hand of a merchants and most of your citizen is or affiliated with a merchant.

@Nunally
It's always good to see Spice & Wolf referenced 😄 Indeed, more people should check that master piece if only to know how a realistic Medieval society and economy would look like. Too many fantasy stories assume that feudal lords can go on power trips whenever they want.

Solum's livelihood is already being strangled by some merchants hoarding wheat. Assassinating one because you didn't like their attitude or their conditions (after you invited them to negotiate) would be the fastest way to burn every bridge with every merchant, including the sympathetic ones. Not to mention that their conditions (abusive prices, support for a candidate whose policies you don't like) are not precisely unheard of in our own world either.

If MC was able to solve this predicament, then the next thing he need to do was to develop the agricultural capability of his domain, so that they do not dependent largely on these ****ole....
