The old characters just gonna be ignored for the sake of new character. The plot's pattern is still one-way with no clue about their development. I genuinely pity milly, she looks like a baggage to the team despite her role as a leader

Wait a minute!
From the way the story was narrated the people unsatisfied with being controlled / ruled by the mages simply built a town for themselves where they lived in peace.
The magic association could not accept there being a place that does not follow their rules and instead is founded on a society disregarding magic as a matter for social standings (while the magic society is founded on "strong magic powers = high social standing" and "low magic powers = low social standing").
As such the magic association decided to destroy that place out of fear that they would lose their absolute control over the world if that place and its rules of society would continue to prosper.

Doesn't that mean that the magic association in that world is actually a kind of evil / criminal organisation who controls the world at its own whims?

i might mixed it up with other isekai, but iirc, they mentioned that dimension gate before and how dangerous it is, so they probably got some justification for attacking them

So the gate it's probaly other world that full of science and magician association is evil goverment that don't want people without magic gain the power even thought they just want peaceful life.

And from this chapter, the magic association is bullshit because they revoke old age MC strongest title just because his full potential in red magic pretty avarage. The problem is if Mc potential is avarage, other mage is probaly more small.

Magic association should just prove that MC strongest title need to revoke by battle, not just by potential status.

Lol he basically read the author's notes and thought "hey sounds about right" So science was overpowered by magic in this world, the antagonist will probably be the survivors of the engineers.

Why is he so stuck on becoming the strongest red mage? His strongest affinity was green, so why not just focus on that instead. Why does it have to be red in his new life starting over from scratch. Seems like a waste of effort.

@degenerateafro Vindication and spite. Remember at the first chapter after all of his hard work he was ousted because someone had a higher potential? Well now he has the reigns on this ability, and it's likely not going to get exposed or sold out.

Really it's any number of reasons, I too think it's kinda dumb, but he's genuinely going to end up as the strongest mage in general just because of how efficiently he's grinding + learning literally every magic.
