@TNT261 the manga illustrator most likely don't have the authority over how the story going to be, he's basically just illustrating the novel content into manga format. He'll just go through the end following the original ending of the novel closely. Ah, also it seems the manga will end in December on volume 8, there will be no new chapter in November since they're probably busy preparing for the final book release, it's basically the same with the novel ending at volume 8.

eh
a few neat thing:
- his magic measured as immeasurable probably not because it's too high, but rather because his magic is still sealed and thus, too low to be measurable
- spending X000 years actually dulls his battle reflex, like, he actually let the gal stabs him in the chest relatively easily
and the bad thing
- can still remember name and faces so clearly even after spending X000 years without any stimuli AND dedicated solely to researching
- the guy that lazily makes his familiar do all the work killing weak enemies to level up somehow got enough determination to dedicates X000 years researching magic
- magic theory formulated in a fake, dream world is somehow immediately applicable in real world
the author got the chance to make essentially a living lich, but noooooo, let's make him powerful without any real consequence instead
i mean, even with the so called "muscle atrophy" the dude can still lift an adult woman with one hand

Did you forget? He spent all that time single-mindedly focused on killing the MC and those he hated. He didn’t even immediately recognize the girl when he woke up.
His familiars may have done all the work, but did you also forget that he himself could fight? He personally fought them himself when his familiars couldn’t do the job, and they all almost lost. In other words, he was that strong to begin with.
Also, who are you to judge how determined a person can be? People have varying levels of determination that have no legit means of being measured.
How can the magic theory be fake? If it works, then how is it fake? Do you know the laws of causality that govern that world? It’s impressive that you’d claim to know more about the author’s own world than the author themselves.

This has indeed gone to being just dumb with this development.
Fine, coming up with new magic witrhin 1000 years of time is okay.
That new magic being OP is also fine.
BUT such magic would also have a corresponding need for magic energy to be able to use it and also enough leeway for the body to handle the output per second.
However his body stayed the same which means its mana capacity and ability to channel mana did not change.
Hence even trying to use one of those powerful magic spells would already destroy his own body.
Hopefully the author comes up with an explanation for that instead of simply swiping it under the floor.
