Reminds me of various old rpg games, where the more skills/perks/traits you started with and the more your lvlup gains got boosted,the slower you gained levels.
(Not too rare with those you could choose to have every single bonus possible at start, but lvling got ridiculously slow at that point, like reaching lvl 3 when others reached 20+.)
Remember, he got a ridiculous amount of skills/perks/traits, even if most on their own aint all that great. (And wouldn't surprise me if author played one of those games.)

@Miguelco If you'll remember there were a bunch of exp boost skills to choose from. I am guessing the girls all possess something to that end.

For anything else affecting his growth we would need to slowly examine the skills he has. He likely has an exp cut skill. Perhaps because he's hanging around them one of his loner skills is cutting down his exp gain.

People were complaining about there being no real consequences to the "loner" skill and that the title of the series held no meaning anymore. And now that we see, definitively, that those things really do mean something, people are dropping the series.

If someone is only interested in, say, harems, edginess, or all-powerful protagonists, then this isn't the story for them.

Fair thought on what might be behind his level issue assuming it wasn't just because of loner skill plus doing a lot of stuff alongside the girls for quite a while now. Some of the races in D&D back when the rules I still know a lot about were the most recent, races with stronger starting bonuses had those bonuses treated as if the character was already a level or two higher than other starting characters. So if it's a party doing the same stuff together, maybe your party members are all level 10 now but you're still only 8.

But yeah, I'd assume he simply stopped leveling when he started working alongside them. So they shot up in the levels to 30ish and he was left where he had started before running into them ( I remember he was definitely below 10 while they were all between 10 and 20 already, but they just fuckin' sucked at fighting stuff so his low level ass was more effective).

It's his wooden doll skill that is making his leveling slow but he gets more stats per level than the others so it has a weird balance to it
