Looking for 2 series

There are 2 series I remember reading years ago, but cannot find. The first is a horror series where a teen returns to his rural home town, there are monsters at night (I think they were zombie like creatures), and the last chapter I remember reading has him at the local shrine looking for answers, I think. As for the second one, I remember the first chapter had a woman at a bookstore, then she went shopping at a convenience store where she de-aged into a young girl, and then started writing stories at her home.
