If I'm going to believe what Beato said, then Nina is definitely this era's King's lover. It's true that Seraphie can alleviate the burning felt by the King but so can Nina. And Seraphie can alleviate everyone's pain not just the King's but only Nina can alleviate the King's pain exclusively.

Edit: It doesn't make sense for Current Nina to be having dreams of Novel Nina's memories because if she's recently transmigrated then she's living as the Current Nina in the current time line. There would be no other time lines apart from the one she's living in. Unless the manhwa is implying that the Novel time line already happened and that the Current time line is like a travel back to the past but this time someone else is Nina. This could possibly explain why she is feeling that way.

This is second hand info but, in the original timeline seraphie used nina to try to escape, failed, and sacrificed nina to save herself, resulting in nina's execution, later on she finds out that nina was her sister which causes her to have breakdowns and self loathing, and the king is having breakdowns over giving the order "a king must make, even if he doesn't want to", making the original a tragedy as nina is the only person capable of breaking the curse, as she's the "lover" in that story that the king sacrificed, so killing her basically condemned him and i'm guessing seraphie as well, meaning they got together as a way of comforting themselves over their own sorrow over what they did, in this timeline she's still the saintess if i remember right, not much romance between them, but not sure on the epilogue.
