Mahousekai no Uketsukejou ni Naritai desu! - Vol. 1 Ch. 2

wow thats a very physical relationship. punched 10 feet into a wall from behind out of nowhere as a hello.

I know Alves is gonna be the fucking male lead but I wish they'd just be friends. Their dynamic is so stereotypical and boring.

That teachers reaction just screams red flags to me (as if the "reincarnated person losing in academics" didnt already). Is the prince getting first place because of the state leaning down on the school so the royals can fabricate a narrative? Or is the prince himself pulling strings (considering his personality, it is probably for petty reasons to make her feel bad (I really hope it isnt that stupid romance trope instead))? Either way it is ruining things for everyone and particularly her.
If this was in that sort of setting, I would wish she found out and her outrage ended up turning her into a demon lord and everyone somehow found out the prince and his family is responsible for the end of humanity just cause they forged the results to keep a commoner from scoring first.

Sometimes in these stories, this type of guy actually gets with say, the friend she was talking to. I think that's what is going to happen, and the MC will be Alves' one girl friend that he can act like himself around (other than his eventual gf). Besides, I think Burnt Toast will become the MC's boyfriend. That's my take on things anyway, we'll just have to wait and see how it goes.

@feha Um, he is not the prince (the flame idiot) he is the heir to a duke. The prince is 4th place. But it's pretty obvious in the way the teacher said she had full marks then changed the subject that the system is rigged that a noble is always first place and the poor scholarship commoners aren't.
@liszst Yup, he is most likely the male lead, and a shit one too.
@Azzriel I agree with you, maybe he'll die? Wouldn't that be nice.
Does anyone else think the time skips are a bit too much? I know she has to graduate to be the titular receptionist, but really with her magic skills wouldn't she be better off trying to be a court mage? Maybe not given her animosity with nobles..

@Lioslin : In the WN
She noted how he'd get something like 105 points.

She never question if he cheats, because that's not the sort of person he is, and she is not the type to care about such things others might do.

It's implied he has some circumstances that require him maintaining that top spot though.

It's likely more of a Japanese problem. She can't get first place because she did everything by the book. And therefore, her answers are the teachers' answers. Alves likely questioned the inaccuracy of the teachers' answers and provides a more thorough or correct answer that not even the teachers can get right. Therefore, the teachers have no choice but to accept that they're no match for his knowledge.

Or maybe it's just that there were questions that the teachers got wrong, but he corrected it. Technically, Nanari didn't answer wrong, because it's in the textbook. How could Nanari know that the textbook got it wrong? Therefore, the teachers can't mark her answers as wrong, but because Alves pointed out what was wrong, he got bonus marks.

i like their relatioship of smacking the shit out of each other, it reminds me of the oneshot of Kishuku Gakkou no Juliet, i liked that version more than the serialized
