Mairimashita! Iruma-kun - Vol. 7 Ch. 60 - Delkira's Relics

I R U M A C C H I

I R U M A C C H I

I R U M A C C H I

I R U M A C C H I

And that is why Clara truly is the best

@Thirtyfour Well, this is seen as the effort of the whole class..and it kinda is. A lot of them did equal the amount of work that he did (although he was the one who led them and got the most results) so it's fair that his personal rank didn't increase but the whole class got what they were aiming for.

And also, it seems they put a lot of emphasis on the rankings. Seems they only hand them out at special occasions only with special permissions that have been taken beforehand. So it might not have even been possible for the teachers to freely hand out ranks to them even if they all agreed. Cause, wasn't it said at the beginning that the highest rank determines the demon king or something? This rank thing might go beyond the school.

No memory loss? Nice.
Hate it when authors do that. One thing for sure, Iruma's core lived through that evil phase.

Was it truly evil, I wonder.

@SightWarden This is one of those bizarre theories, but I think Iruma might be a demon who was brought into the human world for hiding at a young age. Either that or he is half demon.

Why do I have the feeling that this manga will pull a "Family Matters" and have the two personalities of Iruma be two separate characters and have the "evil" side of him exist as a clone. It's not cloning is outside the realm of possibilities for this universe.

So this brings back the question of where the previous demon king went. The author goes out of his way to refer to him as absent, rather than dead or exiled or anything specific. Any theories on what happened, and more importantly, whether he and Iruma are related somehow?

@Doodads Maybe he got isekai'd and had his memories altered, and is currently running around with some neko-girl and a very busty elf.

@Doodads Well, the demon in Iruma's ring is named Alikred which is just Delkira backwards. So I'm guessing that he got stuck in the Ring of Gluttony for some reason at some point somehow.

@Sharpedgs "L" and "R" in Japanese are... flexible, so it is entirely possible that the names are reflections of each other in Japanese and only translation broke the mirror.

What, he turns 100% back to normal? No characteristic of the other phase are carried over?
That's lame. What was the point of it all, then?

I like how the first thing he does is apologize to everything and everyone.

Also its implied that the guy in the ring of gluttony is either the old demon king or is made for grooming the next demon king, so does this foreshadow that even more?

Too early to tell, all we saw was him apologizing. It's possible it did affect him or he reflects on it later on.
The arc did a lot. It introduced teachers, developed the classmates, showed family abilities, moved the classroom setting, changed Iruma's social standing, etc. He might get a rank up, and it sets up more of the demon-king stuff.

@Sharpedgs
Alikred backwards is derkila not delkira
Japanese doesn't differentiate Ls and Rs. It's why there's the stereotype of Japanese pronouncing Ls incorrectly. "Herro. Dato wan dorra. Sankyu."
