I don't know why but I always feel like guns are mad lame in these isekai stories...

I feel like I'm missing something or everyone is forgetting that this battle will be 50 golems vs 50 golems, no one else. Commanders will command, but not be active in the battle themselves. That being the case, guns might work. I do feel like a melee weapon would be better against golems, but maybe they have a weak point that can be targeted? Maybe if they shatter what seems to be masks on the golems?

Are we forgetting that the only thing fighting is a "doll". We can assume no doll can do magic, and have a capability of normal human at best, of course gun is the best choice. Also nobody supposed to die in this fight, at least if both side fight fairly...

Well, they did say that the golems are made of dirt. And if we assume that they hold no regenerative capabilities, then bullets would easily be able to tear through 50 golems pretty quickly. The question is if Ike is just gonna spam golems with guns.

That's a problem. Guns are, in this case, it seems he's using a rifle or musket of sorts, very unreliable. They jam, they break easily, and it's slow to reload. To compensate for that, he either needs 10 golems with some way to block attacks before they reach the Riflegolems and 10 golems to hold the line.
