Maou-sama ni Shoukan sareta kedo Kotoba ga Tsuujinai - Vol. 2 Ch. 10 - She Came Again

In a different setting, I would've assumed that suspiciously generous gift contained a listening device and/or spy camera.

I think what neah draw is the state of the MC,
His soul attracted to Mary's world while his body still sleeping in the earth,
The necklace that Neah Give is to prevent MC uncounciously go back to earth.

Maybe

@Granitefish
It's not the level of technology/magic, it's that I want to assume Neah is really just concerned for Mary's happiness without the additional motive of spying on MC, which includes making sure this strange human's soul doesn't suddenly up and leave Mary like a father going out to buy cigarettes ten years ago and GODDAMN IT WHY HAVEN'T YOU COME HOME YET DAD

While poor at drawing, I would say mc is worse at seeing.
Though I suppose that is to be expected of someone who hasn't even tried to start learning the language despite being immersed in it.

@justforthelulz did you give your father a pretty gem? If not, then there's your answer.

MC why dont you just try to learn their language even just a little, not a single effort to learn damn. Its chapter 10 already, is he waiting for language translation magic or something?

@xwhiteray learning a language isn't easy, plus he needs a teacher to teach him. After all we are talking about a language from a completely different world. And he can't even ask anyone to teach him since he can't speak to them so he can only just wait for translation magic or someone to start teaching him. Sorry for the rant.

Ok, let me see if I understood Neah's drawings: our MC's soul got transported from his world to this one but his soul and body aren't stable, so he risk to move back to his world while sleeping. To prevent this from happening, he has to wear than necklace in order to keep his soul and body together in this world.

did she draw something along the lines of taking his soul out and put it into a baby or something?

@its_ya_boi_lava

You'd be surprised how far you can get by letting go of your pride and being motivated. My cousin worked at a sushi place that only staffed Chinese people except for him and a Danish girl working as waiters. He'd learned a tiny bit of Italian and one of the Chinese workers spoke a bit of Italian and that and pointing was enough for a lot of things, but he then for fun learned a lot of Chinese. It's not that hard to point to things and yourself and get them to tell you how to say those things. Then they can correct you when you try making a sentence out of those and then you have a sentence and a small idea of how the language works. It's going to take forever, but it's very much doable.

@xwhiteray If you want to know how hard it is to learn a completely new language, i would recommend reading 'Heterogeneous Linguistics'. Its a very interesting manga and it somewhat relates to the situation this MC is in. Although the MC of 'Heterogeneous Linguistics' has it a lot easier since his teacher did a lot of the heavy-lifting and thought him the basics of the other language.

The link is here if you're interested. I highly recommend it since it is overall an amazing manga.

For anyone saying why the MC didn't learn the demon's language, I would say because he's certainly around 10 years old, and kids that age aren't all that interested in learning academics stuff nor are the brightest. Also, he would have no way to understand anything since they would be teaching him using only their language without any way to say or write it in Japanese, kinda like trying to make lemonade without water and sugar
