Oof. It hit me pretty hard when the mother asked her child if he liked his father. My mother asked pretty much the exact same thing when I was a few years older than his age. To think that a divorce would've happened if I had said no. My sister would've never been born, and my mother, who hardly knew English, would've have to taken care of me and my infant brother on her own. I won't get into detail, but I will say that thankfully the situation was solved with the help of our grandmother.
