Mameyama's unspecified health problems are still left ambiguous at the end. I'm torn on whether or not this is a good thing. On one hand, Mameyama having been apparently more concerned about telling Maya that her manga is being serialized than about any medical issues would perhaps be an indication that her health problems aren't quite as serious as the few moments that they were touched upon made them appear but, on the other hand, it is a hanging plot thread that becomes a looming cloud over the ending if you're still concerned about her health.
