My Noble Family Is Headed for Ruin, so I May as Well Study Magic in My Free Time - Vol. 1 Ch. 3

Wow, a semi detailed explanation for magic... too bad I'm kinda only half reading this like I do with all the rgp fantasy stories...

It feels weird when i see Undine as a low grade spirit here right after seeing her as a great water spirit in another web novel. (Clearing an isekai with zero believers goddess)

@Lorexen Page 9 the word "remember" & page 14 the word "poisonous" are misspelled. God learning prime numbers in high school was such a pain for me & I don't blame people for getting turned off by it. Thanks for the chapter.

@Gladiator02
funnily enough most stories I've read use those exact name for great spirts undine for water, gnome for earth and so on, usally the outliers for me are the ones that don't use those names for them

Probably because they are all based on myths and once a fiction copy their names and got relatively famous other will as well.

Dude must've slept through every math class he ever had past 5th grade to have never heard of prime numbers.

When author tryin' hard to gives reader logical explanation about magic in a theme that already categorized as illogical. 😂

If this manga was at start focusing on magusologist, I will try to believe it. Shame, there's only few manga/manhwa that gives in depth explanation on magic systematic.

@Akxera
Actually the B.A.BA of magic story telling is to start establishing rules about the phenomena.
Science Fiction also does it when talking about future science.
It's to establish that the power is not omnipotent and thus situation needs to be resolved with the tools available and proper thinking.

Good work in making this translation and all the related task to produce this chapter, lorex. Your work is really apretiated :) (from a reader in spain)

Fuck kinda dumdum smooth brain monkey doesn't know what a prime number is

also thanks for the chapter @Lorexen

@Le_Flemard I understand, but even so I find it hard to accept this manga explanation about casting concept.

Well, maybe it's just me who feel like this because I was prefer to use rune / chant / mana crystal when establishing the rules of restrictions itself.

I also won't argue further as I knew that the author trying to make a a new concept of casting magic that maybe will got further explanation later. Maybe.

good work translating so far particularly the prime numbers one. Thanks for the chapter! \( 。⸝⸝⸝。 )/

Prime... numbers...? What are these magical words that are coming out of this guy's mouth? To think that, in my years of learning the secrets of numbers (learning about the first hundred was tough...), I would actually encounter a different species of numbers... this manga is really something.

That aside... author just made use of prime numbers as a simple way to create an increasing gap between power levels. And add a hint to how power escalates.

I'm expecting all/most top class mages to have those rings and an extra... if suddenly the rings become a super valuable, super rare thing that only 7 people in the country are known to have, then I'd say the passing mentor guy is a very obvious plot device that is very unreasonably broken and needs a fix.
