Need new user restriction to prevent spam posts

This is a double post because of the bot spamming.


We need to restrict new user creation temporarily to stop the script spamming.

It already has a captcha. Maybe adding a different captcha/bot detector might help with that.

Ah. Captchas are easy to bypass, I guess Cloudflare is gonna activate it's anti-anti botting again.

We can try what other forums that are prone to DDOS attacks are doing? New users need to be a week old before they can post to the forums.

I think it’s a small price to pay for a stronger website safety? Plus if they are new to the site, a week will go by fast with all the manga they’ll be binge-reading! Lol

some delay before they can post sound like a good idea, but i would like to refine this a little bit further.
Why not just create a single folder (eg. new to mangadex) where the new one could write and a write-delay for the rest of the forum?
For me this seems the better idea.

edit: another idea would be a minimum post count, after lets say a waiting period and one post (e.g. introduction in open newbie-folder) they would get write permission for the rest of the forum.

Posting delays for new users and between posting replies was already added a few days ago. I just forgot to do the same for posting new threads, but that was added yesterday too.
