Nidome no Jinsei wo Isekai de - Vol. 6 Ch. 28.1 - It seems like a Riari's Request.

And... absolutely nothing happened this chapter. Now I wish I could unread it until at least the next chapter comes out.

It seems to me that holding adventurers in high regard is a good system for general stability in such a world. The combination of tangible dangers and the ability for individuals to strengthen to the point of rivaling an entire army creates a need to attract, cultivate, and reward such individuals. As they are needed to accomplish things that neither numbers nor technology can manage.

Yes, but it's troublesome for the nobility. Nobles have a good position and nice life already, so they wouldn't typically want to risk anything by undertaking dangerous adventures, aside from some foolhardy young ones. However, adventurers growing strong, rivaling entire companies of soldiers, is a threat to the social order from the nobles' point of view. Of course if they manage to employ such adventurers, it could be all fine, but still there's always a risk that if such adventurers rebel, there's pretty much nothing the nobles could do about it. So, feeling insecure, the nobles would try to discourage an atmosphere where adventurers gain lots of public recognition, fame, and consequently pride and political ambition.

Technically it was with a goddess, not a devil, but yeah, the supernatural was involved in his insane capabilities.
