@themanj I've thought for a bit that stories like this where guilds rank adventurers should consider combat skills and reliability separately. Having a higher combat ranking would unlock more dangerous jobs, and having a higher reliability ranking would unlock more important/urgent jobs.

That would make it easier to retain adventurers like the MC who do boring but necessary quests.
