Let me take a random shot in the dark. Somehow, the MC will be in a position where she has to be the pitcher, with Ritsu as the obvious catcher, during the upcoming game. As a result, Ritsu will begin to realize that she is his old childhood friend.
I emphasize "begin" there because I doubt it's going to just happen there. It'll take many more chapters for any real plot development to happen on this front. Again, this is just a random guess.

wooooooo!! Development! Here's my prediction, becomes like the sports manager and helps that pitcher gain confidence ?? Even without becoming some official manager, I can see the potential of using their pitching expertise to help somehow and getting noticed by ritsure

Oof, this chapter was relatable. It made me remember that I was in a similar situation (didn't talk to a childhood friend I really got along with until both of us ended up in the same class during high school), took me a long time to get over the awkwardness.
Hopefully it won't take just as long for these two to get over the awkwardness lol
