Whoever's doing it is checking this thread, since I got a few today out of the blue. Since I've never uploaded any manga, I feel confident it's because I replied to this thread. That's some serious obsession on someone's part.

@Halo It's usually just a checkbox, but occasionally reCAPTCHA will force you to solve a picture CAPTCHA. But then it goes back a checkbox for quite a while.

That's extreme... Maybe temporarily put a restriction on new accounts, says 7-day no PM for newly created accounts or something? At least until the option to only accept PM from friends is available.

This is a decent addition that would help deter this sort of behavior. Of course, it could just be circumvented by creating accounts beforehand.

@phoenix_eD That's not on google. MD admins chose to use the checkbox version of reCAPTCHA.
Anyways, captcha is not the answer. The devs just have to add this friends-only feature, but MD code must be really atrocious if it takes them so long.

@phoenix_eD There is something going on behind the scenes, it prompts you to solve a picture CAPTCHA occasionally because it's not confident enough you're human and solving the CAPTCHA restores that confidence. If it's confident you are human based on... "stuff"... it just gives you the checkbox. The best theory I've seen is that Google analyzes your behavior across all their services, including ads, and uses that when deciding if you get the checkbox or a picture CAPCTCHA to solve. Google's not explained their algorithm, and it's unlikely they ever will to keep the spambots guessing.

Its not I have prejudice toward others or racism, But it seems, since Kissmanga Ded, some new users wreak havoc in Mangadex, as some sort of revenge....
Many spambot appears, terrors or harrasment in recent 1 week period...

Maybe I just overthinking...
