A lot of isekai authors don't think too much about logical progressions of technology. You could probably pretend some tech wouldn't come up because of magic or whatever, but traps are some basic shit, and these hunters don't even have magic. No way they would rely on just bows and spears.

I said "Grenade" what I didn't say is what kind. If its a food can, it has a smell. Certain animals like certain smells.

Example, Squirrels. Favorite smell, nuts. So, you set a stun grenade inside a nut can, and when the squirrel comes along and turns over the can. Latch. Bang. You come and the squirrel is in a good daze for 5 minutes.
