Their goal is to attack the church in Longsong to steal their supplies of THE pills, as well as more or less capturing the western area.

Because now that Garcia is gone the church is slowly cutting Timothy off and he's realizing it.

Once they get the pills they'll use it on some peasants they brought along to use as suicide charger against Border Town.
Well, Roland's group know this is coming thanks ot Petrov's messenger + Lightning and Maggie's daily scouting.

Before the group arrive, he already made some simple bunkers and put his soldiers inside.
Between Nightingale's revealing herself just to shoot someone then disappear again and Echo's imitating the knights' voice to give out fake orders, the enemy were in chaos.
And faced with the bunkers + the constant bullet fires, even the people who took the pills ran away in fear.

It's easy victory, but this reveal to Roland that Timothy is wasting his citizens' lives with this suicide soldiers tactic, and made Roland decide Timothy must be stopped.
